Problem:
When trying to install the line
voltage wire harness for the power exhaust that runs from the unit
control box to the economizer, some technicians believe that they
must first remove the economizer in order to install this wiring
harness. FALSE!
Tip:
(1) After first reviewing the
installation instructions, remove the oval plug from the upper
left corner on the inside of the control box (after first
disconnecting power from the unit). This is where the new wiring
harness is installed.
(2) Stick a 5 foot long piece
of stiff wire through this hole until it appears through the side
return air opening (this is assuming that the side return cover
has first been removed).
(3) Using electrical tape,
secure the new wire harness terminals to the 5 foot long stiff
wire.
(4) Pull the wire harness
through the oval opening. Grasping the wires, pull the oval
grommet on the wire harness until is secure in the oval opening.
