The 2-stage air conditioner will let the air conditioning
system run at a lower capacity in cooler weather and at a
higher capacity during hot weather. This operation will give
a better comfort level for the user because of longer run
times and better de-humidification and air circulation.
The 2-stage air conditioner has a Copeland Scroll compressor that will pump at approximately 67% percent of capacity on a call for first stage
cooling on Y1 terminal.
If the thermostat is not satisfied and the temperature rises, typically three degrees above the set point, a call is made for second stage cooling on Y2 terminal, the compressor will operate at 100% capacity. The unit should operate
at second stage until the thermostat drops back to first stage. This will continue until the thermostat is satisfied.
The Integrated Compressor Control has an LED display module. If the compressor is running in first stage a lower case "c" is displayed.
If in second stage a upper case "C" will be displayed.
