A223_F: Internal Fault: Monitor Chip Comm Failure
Status
This is a critical fault and should rarely (if ever) be seen in the field.
Description
If the control senses a communication error between the main microprocessor and the monitor microprocessor, alarm “A223_F Internal Fault: Monitor Chip Comm Failure” is logged.
Expected Operation
If this fault becomes present, the control ceases all operation. If gas heating is running when the fault becomes active, the control will shutoff by doing post-purge and blower off-delay.
Alarm "A223_F Internal Fault: Monitor Chip Comm Failure" is immediately logged.
The condition remains as described above until the communication is restored.
Cause
1. EcoNet communication between the two microprocessors became out of sync.
2. Faulty furnace control board.
Solution
1. Cycle power to the unit.
2. Replace furnace control (IFC).
