Status
This is a critical fault. The sensor is detecting an A2L refrigerant leak.
Description
A2L refrigerant leak is detected while the air handler is in standby, fan only, cooling, heat-pump heating, or defrost operation.
Expected Operation
If an A2L refrigerant leak is reported by the sensor while the air handler is in standby, fan only, cooling, heat-pump heating, or defrost operation, the control will declare this alarm. Cooling, heat-pump heating, and defrost operation is inhibited until the leak is no longer detected. Electric heat maybe permitted if the air handler model has a variable speed constant CFM. Circulating blower airflow will be as appropriate for an A2L refrigerant leak event. If the A2L refrigerant leak is no longer detected, alarm will be cleared and control will resume normal operation after a 5 minute delay.
Cause
1. A2L refrigerant is leaking.
2. Faulty A2L refrigerant leak detection sensor.
Solution
1. Fix refrigerant leak.
2. Replace A2L refrigerant leak detection sensor.
