A975_O: Contactor Stuck On

Description

The drive has detected compressor operation when it shouldn't.  The compressor contactor may be welded closed  or mis-wired.

Expected Operation

Shutdown. Restart upon clearing issue.

Cause

This problem is usually due to mis-wiring after a repair. Other, less likely causes would be a failed contactor or a failed compressor drive.

Solution

1. Determine if voltage is present at contactor coil. If it is, find the source and resolve. Make sure it is not wired direct or around the drive output.

2. If voltage is being sent from drive to contactor when it shouldn't, replace drive.

3. If voltage is not present but contacts are closed, replace contactor.

4. Replace compressor drive controller.
