Supply Air Sensor Fault For Bypass

T024_Z ยป

Status

This is a non-critical fault. The system will operate somewhat normally.

Description

When an EcoNet Intelligent Bypass is installed, a Supply Air Sensor wired back to the air handler or furnace control board is required. The system cannot find the supply air sensor. Basically, if you have a bypass this is telling you that you have not yet properly connected a supply air sensor to the air mover.

Furnaces use sensor part number: 47-24225-01

Air Handlers use part number: RXHT-A02 which comes with both a supply and return sensor.

Cause

When installing an Intelligent Bypass, a supply air sensor, often referred to an LAT (Leaving Air Thermistor) must be installed in the supply plenum between the coil and the dampers.

This supply air sensor allows the EcoNet zoning system to monitor and make sure the leaving air temperature is neither too hot or too cold as a result of bypassing air.

These sensors are wired back to the air handler or furnace control boards.

If a sensor has been previously wired into the system and has been damaged or no longer connected or functioning, You would likely also see a lost supply sensor fault for the air handler or furnace.

Solution

Install the appropriate supply air sensor per the instructions. The part numbers are listed on this page as well as in the training materials.

If one has been installed, check to be sure it is properly wired into the furnace or air handler control board.

The furnace sensor is wired into two screw terminals marked for supply air sensor.

Air Handler sensors are keyed connectors that plug directly into the air handler control board and are marked for supply and return. The connections are different for supply and return to help prevent mis-wiring the two.
