A929_O: 240V Missing or Inverter Comm Failure

EcoNet - A929_O ยป

Status

This is an alarm condition and the outdoor unit will not run in any mode while alarm is active.

Description

This fault means the EcoNet system cannot communicate with the drive through the modbus.

Expected Operation

When you see this fault, or see it in the EcoNet fault history it means the UODC cannot or could not communicate with the drive. First and foremost,The drive must have between  187 and 253 Volts AC as a drive with no power cannot communicate.  It could be the modbus cable between the UODC and drive is not firmly connected or compromised.  Unit will not run until condition is corrected and will automatically reset itself when the condition no longer exists.

Cause

1. No voltage to the drive. Check incoming power at the main lugs and going into the drive.

2. If the drive LED's are on, and voltages are between 187 and 253 VAC, it could be the modbus cable between the UODC and drive.

Solution

1. Check 240VAC present to the drive controller. If no voltage, apply power to unit.

2. Check that wire assembly between drive controller and universal VSODU controller is properly connected. Inspect wiring for failed or broken wires or connectors. Replace and/or repair as necessary.

3. Replace Universal VSODU controller.

4. Replace Compressor Drive Controller.
