Status
If the PIM temperature is too high, it will shut down the system in an attempt to cool down drive. The unit will go into a lockout after 3 attempts of operation.
Description
PIM (Power Inverter Module) temperature is high and unit is shutting down to prevent damage to the drive.
Expected Operation
Unit will shut down and attempt to restart once the drive cools. If it trips 3 times in one call, unit will lockout.
Cause
1. The most likely cause is excessive conditions such as high ambient temperatures and/or excessive loads on the unit/compressor.
2. If problem persists and lockout occurs, the drive or compressor have likely failed.
Solution
1. Wait until ambient air temperature has cooled below 90F and confirm if problem persists.
2. If problem persists below 90F, replace inverter drive controller.
