A226_F: Internal Fault: Gas Vlv Rly 1 Stuck Open
Status
This is a critical fault and should rarely (if ever) be seen in the field.
Description
Gas valve relay on 1-stage or low gas valve relay on 2-stage is stuck open causing ignition failures
Expected Operation
If the gas valve relay is energized for ignition trial and the internal sensing circuit detects that there is no voltage on the gas valve output and flame is not established after four ignition tries, the gas valve will be de-energized and inducer will run through post-purge. The control will enter a 1-hour lockout with alarm "A113_F One-hour Lockout: Ignition Failure" declared together with "A226_F Internal Fault: Gas Vlv 1 Rly Stuck Open".
After the lockout is complete, furnace will clear alarms "A113_F One-hour Lockout: Ignition Failure" and "A226_F Internal Fault: Gas Vlv 1 Rly Stuck Open". The control then resumes normal operation.
Cause
Faulty furnace control - relay stuck open
Solution
Replace furnace control (IFC).
