A009_Z: Zone Control Bypass Dip Switch Error

A009_Z ยป

Status

This is a critical fault.

Description

The EcoNet zoning panels have a bank of two dip switches on them. One or more of these dip switches is incorrectly set.

Cause

This alert will happen if one or more of the dip switches on the EcoNet zoning panel are set incorrectly.

If only one zone panel is being used, or two panels are being used, both of the the top board's dip switches found in the middle of the board must be in the OFF position (set to the left).

If a second panel is used to either add zones 4, 5 or 6, or a bypass is being used. The dip switches must be set accordingly.  On the second board, the top dip switch designates this control as the second control.  You cannot have two boards designated as zones 1-3. The top switch must be set to ON (to the right).

If zone 6 is designated as a zone, with a zone control, the bottom dip switch must be set to OFF. (left) If however, zone 6 is designated as an Intelligent Bypass, the dip switch must be set to ON (right)

Solution

Double check dip switch settings. Recycle system power when dip switch settings are made.

Single or First of two zone panels should always have both dip switches set to OFF.

Second Zone Panel dip switch 1 must always be set to ON.

Dip switch #2 on second panel must be set to either be a zone which means there are 6 thermostats (Master and 5 zone controllers). If this is the case, set dip switch 2 to OFF (left). If Zone 6 is designated as a bypass, dip switch 2 must be set to ON (right).

As always, once changes are made to any dip switches, recycle power to the system to set the control's internal firmware to acknowledge the new setting.
