A953_O: Coil Temperature Thermistor Failure

Status

The unit should continue to run in the cooling mode with this fault but it should not be left alone. Will negatively impact defrost on heat pumps as system will not know when coil is frosted or defrosted.

Description

The UODC control can no longer detect the temperature from the specified sensor.

Expected Operation

Minor operational changes using default value for operational calculations instead of measured values.

Cause
The temperature sensor or the wire harness to the sensor is usually the cause. The sensor may also be disconnected from the UODC controller. In some rarer cases, the controller itself may be faulty and need replacement.

Solution

1. Verify sensor is properly connected to UODC and Check the thermistor against the 10k thermistor chart.

2. Replace sensor.

3. Replace Universal UODC controller.
