Description
Compressor is pulling more current than expected.
Expected Operation
System will shut down and try 3 times before locking out.
Cause
1. Compressor has a damaged winding or a locked rotor.
2. Compressor drive failed.
Solution
1. Verify that the compressor wires are not grounded .
2. Check compressor winding resistance relative to ground to see if compressor windings are shorted. If shorted, replace compressor.
3. If compressor windings OK, replace compressor drive controller.
