Dampers
We have partnered with EWC in the development of the EcoNet Zoning system. That said, the only dampers we will support will be dampers produced by EWC.
Not just any Damper will work. These are fully modulating dampers that are not simple open or close, spring return, or two position dampers.
Round
The EWC round dampers that may be used with the EcoNet come in two styles, but many sizes.
URD Models
The URD model round dampers are a hard ducted damper designed to go inline the round supply ducts. Rigid or flexible duct will connect to both ends of the damper. They are equipped with a fully modulating actuator.
URD models are round, single blade dampers with a shutoff seal that gives 98% closure. The motor has no moving switches or parts to burn out.
The actuator has 17" lbs. or torque, manual gear release and powered open/power closed operation. The URD features fail safe LED's that will indicate the position of the blade without the need to cut holes or remove damper from duct work.
The LED's are colored RED for closed and GREEN for open. These indicators are a fail safe measure meaning that they will not illuminate until the blade of the damper has gone to its full open or full closed position. The motor is a 3 wire hook-up with a common, a power open leg and a power closed leg. The available sizes are 4" - 6" - 7" - 8" - 9" - 10" - 12" - 14" - 16" -18" & -20".
SID Models
The EWC branded dampers designated as SID are slip-in round dampers. These dampers are designed to be inserted into rigid round pipe with little more than a slit cut lengthwise in the duct.
The SID (Slip-In-Damper) is a user-friendly retrofit damper. With a single cut the SID can be installed in seconds.
The SID Dampers use the same actuators as the ducted dampers.
Available sizes are: 4" - 5" -6" - 7" - 8" - 9" - 10"

ND Models
Heavy Duty Frame Nylon Bushings for Quieter Operation Revolutionary Motor with greater Reliability LED's to Show Damper Operation Low Leakage Simple 3-wire Hook-up.
The ND series of Ultra-Zone dampers was designed with the installer in mind. This damper is easy to install and easy to checkout. The LED display allows the installer to visually check the damper operation. With a sturdier frame, the damper installs in the duct much faster and easier and the nylon bushings insure quieter operation.
The ND damper has a 97% leak proof rating. Overlapping blades and a strong positive off motor insures accurate control of all zones.
The ND is available in 8" x 6" thru 30" x 30" in even inch increments. The motor will be mounted on the second dimension when ordered. For example, a 16" x 8" damper will have the motor mounted on the 8" dimension, while an 8" x 16" will have the motor mounted on the 16" dimension.
Do not attempt to use dampers other than the EWC models listed.
