A003_C: Outside Unit Translator to ODU comm.fail
Status
This is a critical alarm. Nothing will run until this is resolved.
Description
The outdoor translator used in older communicating equipment such as the (-)PRL or (-)ASL is no longer communicating
Cause
The thermostat has lost communication with the outdoor translator used on Comfort Control 2 outdoor product. This can also occur on a new start up of other models, depending on the method the thermostat was updated prior to arriving at job site.1. Loose or damaged wire or connection in the EcoNet bus.
2. Mis-wired during service.
3. Defective outdoor translator.
4. Defective outdoor control board (unlikely).
5. New Smart Thermostat was installed but needs to be reset to defaults.
Solution
1. Check and correct wiring.
2. Check and correct wiring.
3. Check for proper voltages at the communicating terminals. (Click back to go to outdoor model and communication). Replace outdoor unit translator board.
4. Check for proper voltages at the communicating terminals. (Click back to go to outdoor model and communication). Replace outdoor unit control board.
5. Reset thermostat using the defaults button under installer settings and cycle power to system.
