T959_O: Compressor Heater On (Normal Operation)

EcoNet - T959_O »

VSODC - Flashing H »

On the VSODC, this fault will be indicated by the flashing H beyond normal anti-short cycle delay

The Drive LED's will not indicate anything

What this means is, the compressor's stator heat is active because of off cycle migration, or a cold compressor. This fault will only occur in VSODC revisions 42 and earlier. In earlier versions, the stator heat had priority over the compressor. If the compressor wasn't warm enough, the stator heat activated and blocked operation until the compressor reached 45 degrees F at the sump thermistor.

If the stator heat is blocking the compressor for extended periods of time. A newer version of the VSODC may be installed (part number 47-104848-03) to change how stator heat is activated. While this may fix the blocking, there could be an overcharge or something else going on that is allowing the refrigerant to keep the compressor so cold. Flooding, short cycling, overcharge etc. Can all lead to excess stator heat operation.
