A980_O: Fan Self Check Fault

Status

Unit is disabled while fault is active.

Description

Resistance check of BLDC fan motor has failed self check.

Expected Operation

No operation.

Cause

This fault could be due to faulty wiring or disconnected wiring. It can also be caused by a failed fan motor. Another, less likely cause would be a failed compressor drive.

Solution

1. Check wiring between fan motor and inverter drive. Make sure wires are connected and have no visible missing insulation and that connectors are fully seated to plug housing and plug housing is fully seated to control. If Necessary, replace wire assembly. 

2. If fan motor winding resistance to verify equal resistance and that none are grounded or open. 

3. If fan motor and harness check out, replace drive.
