A022_Z to A023_Z: Zone Panel Communication Error
Status
This is a critical fault.
Description
The EcoNet system has lost communication with the zone panel.
A022_Z refers to Zone 1-3 Panel
A023_Z refers to Zone 4-6 Panel
Cause
The system has lost communication with the alarming zone panel. This could be a wiring issue with the EcoNet bus, the power supply (Either system power to panel or external transformer to panel).
Whether there is a single zone panel or there are two panels for this system, each of them should have LED's. If either panel does not have any illuminated LED's this could be an indication that power to that panel has been lost.
If panel LED's are illuminated, it will likely be a result of wiring to the EcoNet bus.
It could be a failed zone panel but check everything else first as this is far less likely.
Solution
Check for power at the zone panel that is alarming. There should always be LED's. If there are no illuminated LED's check the R and C power to the zone panel.
Check communications with the system. Make sure wiring to the EcoNet bus is correct and making good contacts at the connecting points leading to and at the zone panel itself.
The Communications LED is located in the top center of the panel. It should be flashing randomly red and green indicating that communications are taking place. If it is flashing steady in only green (not to be confused with panel status light below it), the board is not communicating on the EcoNet bus.
