A926_O: HP Sensor Not Configured
Status
This is a critical fault, the system will not operate.
Description
The variable speed drive is configured in part by the firmware in the VSODU. The type of high pressure safety is just one of those configurations. This alarm occurs most often when the inverter drive is replaced in the field and the power to the VSODU is not cycled (by means of cycling power to the furnace or air handler) the type of HPS is only sent and set at power up.
If the drive does not receive information from the VSODU, the HPS is not properly configured
Solution
When installing a new inverter drive, or any electronic component in the system for that matter, line voltage power must be removed from both the service disconnect outside and the air handler or furnace inside then powered back up when the work is complete. This is a lot like installing a new hardware on a computer that requires a restart to set the drivers.
